I think I made it clear that I’ve never been great at making predictions. My Four Continents picks pretty much confirmed that. After the short program, according to my predictions, my 1st place skater is currently in 6th and my 2nd place skater is in 12th. So much for that crystal ball. Kimmie’s only four points behind the lead though so this fight certainly isn’t over for her. Regardless it was a poor showing for the American ladies with all three falling in the short program. Kimmie and Alissa both missed their combinations, and Emily fell on her solo flip. Things are even less promising for Fumie who’s ten points out of first and fell twice in her program. Even Joannie, who sits as the top finisher, stumbled out of her combo. I can only hope the ladies pull it together before Saturday’s free skate.
